About Energy Efficiency

The Global Energy-Efficiency Leader

Honeywell began more than 125 years ago with an invention that was the world’s first automatic thermostat, and Honeywell has been helping the world save energy ever since. In fact, more than 50% of Honeywell’s vast product portfolio is linked to energy savings and if Honeywell’s existing technologies were widely adopted today, energy demand in the U.S. could be reduced by 20-25%.  Honeywell's energy efficiency and controls technology is currently being delivered to more than 150 million homes, 10 million buildings and thousands of industrial sites.

Innovative Honeywell technology helps utilities meet demand side management goals by designing and implementing targeted programs and providing the necessary metrics to verify and improve the results. Energy efficiency improvements for a full range of residential, small business and commercial customer types help them save energy and money. The technology and rebates are delivered through multiple channels, including retailers, contractors and more.

RESIDENTIAL
Honeywell works with utilities to help homeowners find ways to improve energy efficiency in their homes and reward them for any upgrades and other energy saving actions taken. Honeywell has a proven track record of helping utilities with market segmentation to successfully target the right customers with the right messages as well as implementing EE programs with robust services and a broad contractor network from single family to multifamily to low income.

SMALL BUSINESS AND COMMERCIAL & INDUSTRIAL
Rising energy costs, environmental concerns, and more stringent building codes are contributing to the need for more energy efficient buildings, especially in the large commercial market. Buildings account for about 36% of all energy use in the U.S. and 65% of electricity consumption.  Demand for energy, in the US, is expected to increase by approximately 31% within 25 years. It is estimated that roughly 30% of energy consumed in commercial buildings is used unnecessarily or inefficiently.  Honeywell can help reduce energy demand and increase efficiency.

Working with Honeywell gives utilities a greater position working with any customer segment. Together, we are reshaping the way the world uses energy.
